About Tail Tutor

Tail Tutor is a dog-training resource built on one belief: every owner can train a happy, well-behaved dog when the guidance is clear, practical, and grounded in proven methods. No jargon, no gimmicks, no shortcuts that backfire.

From the first day you bring a puppy home to solving stubborn behavior problems years later, we’re here to give you step-by-step guidance you can actually follow, backed by widely accepted, force-considerate training practice.

Who’s behind Tail Tutor

Tail Tutor is founded and run by Zain Saffi, a lifelong dog owner who built this site after getting tired of dog-training advice that was full of jargon, quietly selling something, or flatly contradictory. Zain is not a certified veterinarian or professional trainer, and Tail Tutor does not pretend to be. What it offers instead is guidance carefully researched against established, welfare-first training methods, written in plain language, and honest about what is proven and what is not.

The site’s free tools, the puppy feeding calculator, crate-size calculator, and vaccination-schedule generator, are built on real, published formulas rather than guesswork, because Zain wanted tools he could trust for his own dog. If you have a question or spot something we can improve, email Zain directly at connect@tailtutor.com.

What we cover

Puppy Training

Housebreaking, crate training, socialization windows, and the commands that set a foundation for life.

Obedience & Commands

Sit, stay, recall, loose-leash walking. The core skills, taught in the right order with realistic timelines.

Behavior Problems

Barking, chewing, jumping, leash reactivity, separation anxiety. Why they happen and how to fix them humanely.

Gear & Reviews

Honest, use-case-driven breakdowns of collars, harnesses, crates and training tools so you buy once, not twice.

How we research every guide

Trust is earned one accurate article at a time. Before anything is published on Tail Tutor, it goes through a consistent standard:

  • Grounded in established practice. Every guide is researched against current, widely accepted dog-training methods, favoring positive-reinforcement and welfare-first approaches.
  • Reviewed for accuracy. Claims are checked before publishing. We don’t invent statistics, studies, or personal anecdotes we can’t stand behind.
  • Written to be usable. Real steps, realistic timelines, and clear “do this, not that” guidance instead of vague theory.
  • Kept current. Guides are updated as best practices evolve and as reader questions surface gaps worth filling.
  • Safety-aware. For serious behavioral or medical concerns, we consistently point owners toward a qualified professional or veterinarian rather than replacing them.

Why owners trust Tail Tutor

We’re not trying to sell you a course or a quick fix. Our goal is simpler: publish the clearest, most reliable dog-training guides on the internet, and make them free to read. If a guide ever saves you a frustrating week, an unnecessary purchase, or a trip to a trainer for something you can handle at home, we’ve done our job.
